The position focuses on investment research and due diligence across liquid asset classes and private market strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and monitoring external investment managers and funds for inclusion in client portfolios. Responsibilities include conducting detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis, assessing performance, risk, and portfolio fit, and developing investment recommendations for internal review.

This role requires strong analytical judgment, intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail, along with the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, external managers, and clients. The role requires a professional who can operate with independence while collaborating closely within a team-oriented investment environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth quantitative and qualitative due diligence on third-party investment managers, including strategy analysis, organizational evaluation, investment process review, risk management evaluation, and performance attribution.
  • Evaluate managers across equity, fixed income and private market strategies for potential inclusion in client portfolios.
  • Produce written investment recommendations and present findings to the Manager Selection Committee, senior leadership and the broader investment team.
  • Maintain ongoing dialogue with external managers regarding performance, positioning, and strategy evolution; identify emerging risks and recommending changes as appropriate.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on managers under coverage, acting as a key internal resource for internal portfolio managers and wealth advisors.
  • Periodically interface with clients, partnering with portfolio managers to explain more complex strategies, manager recommendations and performance outcomes.
  • Provide regular updates and reporting on manager activity, positioning and performance.
  • Collaborate with internal portfolio managers to translate manager research into actionable portfolio positioning and solutions.
  • Contribute to overall portfolio construction, idea generation and identification of differentiated strategies and emerging investment opportunities.
  • Support proprietary and general market research, including asset allocation frameworks, capital market assumptions, valuation models, and quarterly market outlook.

Qualifications:

  • CFA designation and/or MBA from a top-tier program strongly preferred.
  • 3-6 years of relevant work experience in manager research, investment consulting, fund-of-funds or allocator roles.
  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and qualitative assessment skills.
  • Ability to clearly articulate and defend investment views, both verbally and in writing, and synthesize complex research into clear insights for both investment professionals and clients.
  • Collaborative mindset, high professional integrity and strong work ethic.

Expected Base Salary Range: $125,000 - $175,000
