<p>This is a remote position.</p> <h1>Pay Range: $22.47 – $24.32 per hour + Health & Welfare (H&W): $5.09 per hour<br></h1> <p><br></p> <b>Requiring Activity:</b> VHA<br> <b>Contract Period:</b> 03/01/2026 – 08/31/2026<br> <b>Positions:</b> 5 Full-Time<br> <b>Service Contract Act:</b> Yes<br> <p><br></p> <h3><b>Job Description</b><br></h3> <p>The Medical Records Technician (ROI) will support Release of Information operations at the Central Texas Veterans Healthcare System. Responsibilities include processing requests for Protected Health Information (PHI), validating authorization, retrieving and releasing records, logging requests, and maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA, the Privacy Act, VHA policies, and federal guidelines.<br></p> <p>Technicians must ensure <b>accuracy in release of information and adherence to national standards</b>, including those established by <b>CMS</b>, <b>AMA CPT</b>, <b>ICD‑10‑CM/PCS</b>, and all applicable <b>VHA/VA policies and credentialing requirements</b> (e.g., <b>CPC, CCS, CCS‑P</b>).
